AI Brasil Experience: two days of ideas and connections

On 28 and 29 October 2026, I attended AI Brasil Experience in São Paulo, organized by AI Brasil. Across talks, panels and conversations, one theme stayed with me: keeping human relationships at the center of technology.

Day 1 / Humanity at the center of AI

Priscilla Carvalhinha shared a reflection that stayed with me: technology accelerates, but our nervous systems, trust and ability to integrate change do not necessarily move at the same pace. As our relationships with machines grow more sophisticated, we need to care more intentionally for human relationships. Art — the A in STEAM — belongs in technology, too.

Elaine Coimbra, Alexandra Ebert and Carlos Alberto Silva joined a discussion on responsible AI in marketing and communication. Sávio Teles, Marcelo Vasserman, Bruno Cortes Siqueira and Gustavo Baruel discussed conversational agents.

In the panel “Algorithms with conscience: the role of women deciding the future of AI”, Irina Frare Cezar, Aline Sordili and Marcela Lúzio discussed women shaping these decisions, highlighting Levante Mulheres Vivas, a national movement against gender-based violence.

Clóvis de Barros Filho closed the day with “Confiar em sua inteligência não é artificial” — trusting your intelligence is not artificial. His talk brought us back to the human thread running through the event.

Day 2 / Connections that stay with us

On the second day, the connections mattered as much as the program. I spoke with professors, researchers with doctoral degrees and AI entrepreneurs from across Brazil. It was encouraging to see that potential up close.

Meeting Dra. Paula Coelho — Inovacia, Conecta Cientista, AI Safety Brazil and Women in AI Brazil — and discussing new directions and possible collaborations was motivating. Her work spans more than 25 years connecting academia and industry.

Alexandra Ebert of ABRADi spoke about how algorithms and AI agents are beginning to mediate relationships between brands and consumers. I also met Ênio Moraes of Movimento.ai, author of “Diário da IA”. He gave me a signed copy; I have started reading it and am loving it.

Thank you to Pollyanna Nunes of Power of Data for her empathy, and to André Noel of The Developer’s Conference for his contagious energy. It was also a pleasure to meet Carlos Pinto of Power of Data.

A special thank-you to Líbna Raffaely, an AI engineer and CEIA/UFG researcher working on multi-agent systems; Priscilla Carvalhinha of Ser Lótus and Thalora; and Rauane Camille of Comporte-SER. Thank you for your company and the conversations. And thank you to the AI Brasil organizing team.

The conversation continues in Rio

I am also organizing AI Tinkerers Rio. If you build with AI and are in Rio, let’s talk. More news soon.
